Certificate IV in Photoimaging |
In late 2009 our family moved to Northwest Tasmanian, following moves to New Zealand and the Northern Territory. In 2010 I decided to translate my photography experience in to a qualification at Polytech Tasmania (Tas Tafe). During that year I also gained employment as a press-photographer at the local Fairfax newspaper, completing the bulk of the Cert IV through Recognition of Prior Learning.
At the newspaper I was exposed to professional quality camera equipment for the first time and undertook a steep learning curve into the world of current affairs, local events and daily deadlines. The images below are from a personal project I undertook during that year, through the newspaper I met staff at Tascot Carpets, one of the regions last manufacturing firms. The business was finishing its last orders, selling it's designs and carefully transitioning it's staff into other trades and work places. These photographs were taken with a Canon EOS 40D and L-Series lenses, in November 2010. |
